RESET: The Intentional Act of Pausing

A Story About Remembering Myself

There was a time in my life when everything felt like it was falling apart. My relationship had just ended, I was exhausted from overworking, and I felt completely disconnected from myself. I had planned a romantic getaway to Belize with my ex—but after the breakup, the trip was no longer an option, and I couldn’t get a refund.

Instead of canceling everything, I chose something different. I invited two of my closest friends to join me for a week in Tulum, Mexico. It wasn’t the trip I had planned, but it turned out to be the journey I truly needed.

For seven days, we rested. We made music. We ate incredible food and laughed until our hearts felt lighter. We spent long afternoons on the beach, letting the ocean waves wash away the noise of our everyday lives. There was no rushing, no constant need to be “on,” no endless list of things to do—just intentional time to pause and simply be.

Somewhere between the salt air and the sound of drums under the stars, I began to heal.
The heartbreak softened.
Creativity started flowing again.
I found peace with the past, and I reconnected to myself in a way I had never experienced before.

That trip changed me. It reminded me that taking time to pause is not a luxury—it’s a necessity. In the quiet space we created, I fell back in love with life. And from that experience, the vision for RESET was born.
